3 Accelerators to Grow Monthly Recurring Revenue for Agencies

Growing monthly recurring revenue is a key goal for many agency owners. And if it’s not, it should be! Agencies with a strong base of monthly recurring revenue are better able to grow, as the predictable income makes it easier to plan ahead.

Unfortunately, it’s difficult for many agencies to achieve.

Some agencies are project-based, and start with an initial short-term engagement “hoping” they can transition customers into additional projects. I’ve found that “hope” is not a reliable strategy.

Other agencies work with larger ‘enterprise’ customers with bigger projects, with payments split into project or service milestones. This creates additional cash flow issues, sometimes leaving the agency exposed.

Whilst there are some agencies with monthly retainers, they still struggle to grow. Either because they have low customer retention, or they over-service customers, which restricts their ability to grow.
